Operating on a non-profit-making basis, BMI is now the largest music rights organization in the U.S. and is still nurturing new talent and new music.

BMI represents more than 700,000 songwriters, composers, and publishers with more than 10.5 million musical works.

Jason Walker
Jason Walker
Jason Walker moved to Nashville in 2005 to pursue music and promptly signed an exclusive songwriting deal with Word Music Publishing in January of 2007. The following years brought new outlets for his talents in songwriting, earning him top honors and continued imprints on many artist releases with the Word team.

Alongside his years of songwriting, Jason released multiple solo projects under the Word/Warner banner. These songs lead to features on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, MTV and VH1. His song ‘Down’ reached the national spotlight in 2009, when it was featured in Season 1 of The Vampire Diaries. It has gone on to sell over 130,000 copies, earning over 16 million streams on Spotify and nearly 40 million plays on Pandora.

Jason released three EP’s between 2009 and 2013. His songs warranted features on ABC, CW, MTV and other TV platforms.

Jason ventured to CA in 2013 to explore and dive into the industry for a year. California brought a new energy to Jason’s style of writing and surrounded him with inspiring talent.

With the new inspiration and change of scenery, a new genre of music opened up in 2014, as he began his artist features with many DJ’s in various countries.

His side project, The Swing, landed a national spot in a T-Mobile commercial in 2017. A placement in a trailer for ‘Life of the Party’ and other network features followed.

Jason released his much anticipated solo album, Suddenly, in February 2017. These songs continues to land new on playlist.

In the fall of 2017, Jason had a feature release with top 40 DJ, KYGO. His song ‘Sunrise’ has produced over 12 million streams on spotify. Jason joined Kygo on his World tour in early 2018, playing for sold out stadium crowds in countries where his solo music had already taken hold.

The last couple years have continued with consistent features for DJ’s all over the world.

Since the end of 2017, Jason has released four new singles. These releases stear back to his singer songwriter vibe that captivates so many. Jason’s new single, ‘This,’ released in August 2018, showcases Jason’s thoughtful songwriting and relatable emotions. It is brought to life with the mesmerizing music video accompanying the release.

Captivating solo shows, new releases and features fill Jason’s future.

Leah Sykes
Leah Sykes
Leah Sykes grew up in Jacksonville, FL with her 4 siblings. As a swimmer, Leah’s young adult life consisted of going from the locker room music of 50 Cent and Jay-Z to her parent’s mini-van music of James Taylor and John Mayer.

At the age of 12, she bought her brother’s guitar from him for $50 and began writing music.

She played her first show when she was 15, covering both Monster by Eminem (all 3 rap verses) and Don’t Know Why by Norah Jones. While Leah’s distinct influences might seem to contradict each other, there is a defining point that they all share: they tell a story.

At 18, she moved to Nashville to pursue those stories and to pursue those sounds. When listening to Leah Sykes, you can hear her heart as she pours her insecurities, love and failures into the lyrics in that ground between the ‘Locker Room and Mini-Van’.
Ashley Leone
Ashley Leone
Ashley Leone is a contemporary R&B artist/writer whose pop sensibilities are reflected in her soulful, yet relevant sound. Drawing much inspiration from the perils and promises of topics like lust & love, Ashley is no stranger to her vulnerability—in her music, that is.

“Sometimes it ends up being brutally honest, which I just can't help,” she says. “When I'm creating, I have the least amount of boundaries and I can fully say what I need to.”

In many ways, you could say Ashley becomes her most authentic self when expressing thought through lyric.

When it comes to Ashley’s sound, there’s one thing that remains consistent: her vibe. From her love of 808s to her unwavering lyrical honesty, Leone doesn’t miss a beat. Having been raised in a home that embraced a wide variety of genres at an early start, Ashley became drawn to R&B/Hip-Hop by way of her older brother and middle school friends. Since then, her passion for the music has continued to grow, alongside her ability to account for life’s raw, yet beautiful experiences.

“I started writing because I knew this is what I wanted to do, but also literally just as an outlet. Sometimes a song comes out so fast and I'm like ‘wait, that's how I'm feeling?’ Writing things out keeps me in check with myself.”

In addition to writing, Ashley loves spending time in the studio working to capture, understand, & enhance the experiences that have lead her there. Outside of the writing room & studio, she loves making a name for herself on the stage. Her passion for performing is merely an extension of the vibe she seeks to radiate in both her music and style.

Among her many musical influences, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, Kehlani, Chance The Rapper, Kendrick Lamar, H.E.R., SZA, Frank Ocean, and John Legend are considerably her favorites.

Ashley was born & raised in the outskirts of Philly, although she currently calls Nashville, TN home.
