HOUSEQUAKE - Monthly showcases celebrating the growing, diverse pop scene in Nashville
Brit Daniels
Brit Daniels
Brit Daniels intertwines energetic pop with vibrant elements of rock and EDM to create a sound that completely encompasses everything about her. Born and raised just outside of Dallas, TX, her talent was solidified at the ripe old age of two when her mother caught her belting out Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in their backyard. Daniels really began honing her craft and truly understanding herself as an artist when she began recording in local studios, performing in various talent shows and competitions and singing the National Anthem for several Texas Rangers baseball games. Daniels picked up her life after completing a degree in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of North Texas and an internship in radio to move her journey to Nashville to begin working at a major label and management company in order to learn how the business aspect of music works. Splitting her time between Nashville and Los Angeles, Daniels has begun work on a new project with the help of producer Jordan Galvan who works with 30 Seconds to Mars and Evanescence, as well as Mike Malchicoff (Kanye West, Kirk Franklin, Fun), Dale Becker (Cam, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Michelle Williams) and writers Phil Barton (Sara Evans, Cassadee Pope, Lee Brice), and Lindsay Rimes (Troye Sivan, The Summer Set, Drake White).
Music has always been the constant in Daniels’ life. From her mother putting headphones on her belly while pregnant with Daniels to her first instrument given to her by her father, she knew becoming a musician was her fate. But, when Daniels was a freshman in college, the unexpected happened and her father passed away due to injuries sustained from a car accident while he was on duty as a police officer. Through this experience, Daniels started refining who she was an artist and the stories she wanted to tell. Her first single, “Eulogy” shows that troubles you face can break you, but it’s up to you to move on, find the good, and see that you might be better off in life because of them. In her father’s death, Daniels found her strength and her passion ignited. Thriving on an outgoing and bubbly personality, she’s not afraid to dig deep and delve into anything that life throws her way.
“You start doing so much to fit in and be popular that suddenly standing out becomes the challenge. Don’t be afraid to be yourself, trust in what you love and focus on that.”

Maddy Newton
Maddy Newton
As far back as preschool, pop singer-songwriter Maddy Newton could slip away into a vibrant world of creativity of her own making. As an only child, from Boca Raton, Florida, she entertained herself writing playful hooks based on movies and TV shows. At 8 years, she boldly shared her gifts in a singing competition and won the grand prize of performing in front of 1,500 people. Alone in her music, or energized onstage, was where she felt the most comfortable. Everywhere else, she lacked self-esteem. Her path in music has empowered her, and now, with her brand new single, “What Am I To You,” she’s committed to lifting up and inspiring others.

“Growing up, I was weird. I was taller than everyone else, I had red hair, and I was really into horses and music,” shares the Nashville-based singer-songwriter. “Back then, young female artists gave me inspiration, someone to look up to and feel connected to. My mission is to be that, for somebody else.”

Maddy Newton’s infectious hooks, and pleasantly unexpected rhythmic infusion, create a distinct modern pop sound with an 80’s twist. Though she’s a young new artist, Maddy has garnered some impressive accolades. She was featured as Artist of the Week on the Top 40 iHeart radio station in Nashville, was just picked up by Radio Disney, and has opened up for other larger acts including JoJo, Cimorelli, and A Great Big World.

Maddy counts Hilary Duff, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus as her initial role models in the business. Maddy wrote her first structured song at 13 years old and later sat her parents down to tell them she was determined to be a serious artist. Maddy finished her studies through an online Academy, and by eleventh grade, was maintaining a busy calendar of recording and writing sessions.

Poised for a very promising career, Maddy reflects back on what matters to her most. “It’s taken me a long time to be confident in myself and my opinion. I love what I do, and want to put music out there that encourages people to embrace what’s quirky about them! I hope I can be someone positive they can relate to.”

" “Into the darkness they go, the wise and the lovely.” - Edna St. Vincent Millay

"Unfraid of the dark, Notelle wallows artistically in the extremes of emotion. Wide-eyed, blonde yet brooding, she finds inspiration in the shadows, the macabre and the raw. Drawing from language of authors before her,
Notelle's lyrical voice straddles the line between conversational and elegant - each song written with a silver-tongued pen. Brazen and unassuming, her music is rich with the cinematic, woven with the night, and founded in the beautifully real experiences that arouse and unsettle those of us
who are not afraid to feel it.

Based in Nashville, TN, Notelle has been working as a featured vocalist and topliner
since 2014. Working with DJs and producers around the globe, she has accumulated over 1.7 million streams on Spotify with features on Spotify’s FreshEDM & Deep Delight playlists, 1.75 million plays on YouTube, coverage on Sirius XM Radio and, and has tracks signed to over 10 labels
including Armada and Knight Vision (Warner Music) - all while remaining independent.

Now, Notelle is exploring her solo artistry. She has spent the past year developing her version of “heavy, messy pop” alongside producer, Timothy Ryssemus of Altru Creative. Utilizing her love for gritty, chest-compressing low
end, haunting yet unpretentious vocals and rhythmic, percussive synths, she has created 5 singles that define who she is as a writer, a featured vocalist, and most importantly, a new artist."
