The Jug Huggers

with Sons of Lions & Stallion

THE JUG HUGGERS
WHO THEY ARE:
The Jug Huggers are a two-piece Southern Grunge band from Columbia, TN. They have been playing together as a two-piece since October 2007. Slaw Bones (Josh) and Lil Jo’ (JoJo) have been writing together for the past three years. The Jug Huggers released their homegrown album (A Medley of Jams) in April 2009, which sold out 1000 copies in 9 months with only self-distribution. It was also recorded almost entirely in a two car garage. They are awaiting the upcoming release of their sophomore effort “Whiskey Pancakes” coming out June 2010 on the Mule Town Records label. The first single, “Roly Poly”, will be released on 7 inch vinyl alongside their second full length disc.
THEIR SOUND:
The Jug Huggers have a unique sound. They like to call it Southern Grunge. If you took the soul and lyrical styling’s of Muddy Waters, Neil Young & David Allan Coe and mixed in the music of Bo Diddley, Merle Haggard and Foo Fighters you would have an idea of what they’re offering. It’s the perfect mix of blues, rock, grunge and classic country (Southern Grunge).
