Latin.Rock.Soul.Roots

with Danny Salazar + Trova Urbana & more

With catchy grooves that move you through the night and breathless melodies that soothe the soul, Danny Salazar + his band Trova Urbana is a show you do not want to miss! Salazar tastefully gathers the essence of Latin American roots and rhythms, then adds his own signature feel, expressing his emotions in a bold yet sophisticated way. Quite naturally, Danny Salazar grew up to be a crossover, multifaceted, talented musician, after spending his formative years in the border town of Eagle Pass, Texas. In Eagle Pass, he could walk to the Río Grande (Río Bravo) and look across the river to the Mexican town of Piedras Negras, the place where he would subconsciously draw his first inspirations after seeing the street musicians walk the streets with their instruments in hand and performing 'al aire libre' (outdoors). At the age of 14, he began teaching himself to sing and play the guitar, influenced by the wide range of music that his father listened to on the radio, including; cumbia tropical, norte~o, country, rock and seventies music. One style that really took hold was reggae after listening to 'Is This Love' from Bob Marley. His diverse musical influences melded into songwriting at that same age. Raised by parents who spoke Spanish at home, Danny speaks and writes in both English and Spanish. Although most of his songs are written in Spanish, he manages to merge the simple and intensively affective resonance of both languages, appealing to the senses of people of all backgrounds and all ages while solemnly expressing his whole being and passionate humanity.
